Give Basic Needs - Volunteer Agreement (v1.2)
Organization: Give Basic Needs ("the Organization") Volunteer: The undersigned individual ("the Volunteer") This agreement outlines the mutual understanding between the Organization and the Volunteer, whose service is essential to the Organization's mission of reducing suffering and amplifying happiness.
1. Unpaid, Voluntary Position
The Volunteer understands and agrees that this is an unpaid position. The Volunteer's role is strictly voluntary. The Volunteer agrees to perform services without any right to or expectation of wages, salary, employment benefits, or financial compensation of any kind. This agreement does not create an employment contract, and the Volunteer is not an employee of the Organization.
2. Role and Responsibilities
- Title: Happiness Volunteer
- General Responsibilities: The Volunteer agrees to perform tasks based on their skills and the Organization's needs, which may include administrative support, communications, data management, and support for "Giving Events".
3. Additional Terms for Medical Volunteers
If the Volunteer's role involves any medical, clinical, or wellness services, the Volunteer warrants (legally promises) that they possess all valid licenses, certifications, and professional insurance required to perform such services. The Volunteer agrees to provide copies of these credentials upon request and shall only perform services that fall strictly within their professional scope of practice. The Volunteer understands that Give Basic Needs is a non-medical facilitator and the Volunteer is solely responsible for their own professional conduct, actions, and any potential malpractice.
4. Term and Termination
This agreement begins on the date signed and continues on an ongoing basis. This is an "at-will" arrangement, and either the Volunteer or the Organization may terminate this agreement at any time, for any reason, by providing notice to the other party.
5. Code of Conduct
The Volunteer agrees to:
- Uphold the mission and values of Give Basic Needs.
- Act with professionalism and respect toward all staff, volunteers, and beneficiaries.
- Adhere to all Organization policies, including those for safety and confidentiality.
- Maintain open communication with their designated supervisor.
6. Representation and Authority
The Volunteer is not an agent, employee, or legal representative of Give Basic Needs. The Volunteer has no authority to act on behalf of, speak for, or legally bind the Organization in any way. This includes, but is not limited to, making statements to the media, entering into contracts, or incurring any debt or liability on behalf of the Organization without explicit written permission.
7. Confidentiality
The Volunteer may access confidential information and agrees not to disclose or use it for any purpose other than their volunteer duties, both during and after the term of this agreement.
8. Media Release and Ownership of Work
The Volunteer grants the Organization permission to use any photographs, video, or other media featuring the Volunteer for promotional and archival purposes. Any work product (documents, designs, content) created by the Volunteer for the Organization shall be the sole property of Give BasicNeeds.
9. Assumption of Risk and Liability
The Volunteer performs all services at their own risk. While the Organization will strive to provide a safe environment, the Volunteer understands that risks exist. The Organization is not liable for any loss, damage, or injury sustained by the Volunteer, except where caused by the Organization's gross negligence.
10. Governing Law
This agreement shall be governed by the laws of the State of Nevada, USA, without regard to its conflict of laws principles.
Acknowledgement
By signing below, I confirm that I have read, understood, and agree to the terms and conditions outlined in this Volunteer Agreement. I accept the position as a Volunteer for Give Basic Needs and commit to fulfilling my role to the best of my ability.
